I am honored that my image "Tree Trunk in River Current" was awarded Best in Show at the Oregon Society for Artists 2022 Photography Showcase. This image was made last year on a cool late September morning in Glacier National Park. As I was crossing a foot bridge over McDonald Creek, I looked down over the railing and was presented with this scene. I was immediately struck by the sight of the cold water rushing around the form of the tree roots and trunk. I chose a shutter speed of 1/5 sec to capture the kinetic excitement of the fast moving water.
The 2022 Photography Showcase will remain on view in OSA's gallery through April 27. Info at www.osartists.org
